A taxi operator narrowly escaped death after he was abducted, robbed and stabbed in Central Village, St Catherine last night.

It is reported that about 10 o'clock, the driver who plies the Highgate to Half Way Tree Route was approached by a woman who chartered his vehicle to Windsor Heights in Central Village.

But when he got to the destination he was reportedly held up and robbed by 10 men after the woman disembarked the vehicle.

Reports indicate that he was also beaten, stabbed and placed in the trunk of the car and taken to the Caymanas Bay Road.

He managed to escape and ran into bushes where he called the police.

He has since been hospitalised in serious condition.

His vehicle was later found abandoned in a wooded area.
