Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Justice, Carol Palmer, has rebutted Wednesday's criticisms by Members of Parliament's Administrations and Appropriation's Committee who reprimanded her for missing the sitting.

Palmer in describing the matter as a move aimed at maligning her character, said last week she communicated to the secretary of the committee that she would have been absent from the sitting.

She said she was shocked to learn that news was being circled that she was absent from the meeting without approval.

"I had a commitment that I made from last year for yesterday, I was notified of the schedule on Thursday and I sought the approval of the chairman to be rescheduled," she said.
