Caribbean Airlines had cancelled several of its flights to New York as the tri-state area prepares to be hit by a major snow storm.

The authorities have advised that the JFK International Airport will be shut down.

Caribbean Airlines says all flights to and from JFK for today and tomorrow have been cancelled.

The airline says contingencies are in place to resume full service when conditions improve.

It is advising passengers to visit its website, its Facebook pages or to call its toll free telephone numbers for flight-specific information.
