NewsSnowstorm stalls Northern US states, Canada2013-02-09 12:54:08 | (0 Comments)
A major snowstorm has brought several states across the north-east region of the United States and eastern Canada to a standstill, leaving about half a million homes without power.
Reports say blizzard warnings are in effect for much of the coastal areas in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Boston and Maine. Forecasters say the storm, which started yesterday, has left many areas under as much as three feet of snow with more snowfalls expected today. It is reported that more than 600,000 homes and businesses are without power in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut. The storm has also brought public transportation to a halt in some states and residents have been warned to stock up on food and other supplies.
