Rasbert Turner, Gleaner Writer

Vendors were locked out of the Spanish Town Market in St. Catherine this morning for their failure to pay registration fees.

The vendors are required to pay $2,500 annually.

However, they have complained that times are hard and it is very difficult to find the fees.

According to Market Manager Vincent Morrison only 10 per cent of the vendors pay the registration fee.

Commercial Services Manager at the St. Catherine Parish Council Ferdinand Paige says there were 138 registered vendors in Spanish Town up to the end of last year.
