Bunting, Golding to meet with US authorities on lotto scam

National security minister, Peter Bunting and justice minister, Mark Golding are to discuss the lottery scam issue with the US authorities next week.

The two are to visit the United States between February 20 and 24 for a series of engagements.

Among those engagements is a meeting on February 22 with the Inter-American Dialogue group in Washington DC, on the Government’s efforts to combat the lottery scam problem in the country.

Commissioner of Police Owen Ellington will also participate in that meeting.

The ministers are also expected to have meetings on the lottery scam issue with agencies of the United States Government.

Meanwhile, Golding and Bunting will be taking part in a town hall meeting on February 20, in New York followed by an evening with the ministers in Maryland the next day.

The evening with the ministers will take the form of two Jamaica 50 Lectures, the first on issues of National Security in Jamaica since Independence, and the second on issues of Justice in the country.
