Man dies in St Andrew blaze

Fire of unknown origin destroyed a three-bedroom house on Camel Road, Essex Hall in St Andrew, yesterday morning. One man was killed in the blaze.

Dead is Ivan Thompson of the same address.

Reports from the Lawrence Tavern Police are that about 5 a.m., residents saw fire coming from a section of the house and raised an alarm. The police and fire brigade were summoned and a unit from the Stony Hill Fire Station extinguished the blaze. The charred remains of Thompson was found among the rubble.

The house was not insured and investigations continue.
