NewsMain suspect in 16-y-o girl's death may be charged this week2013-02-17 12:04:27 | (0 Comments)
A man who the police have described as the main suspect in the killing of a 16-year-old girl in Manchester is to be questioned by detectives this week.
The Constabulary Communication Network (CCN) says the man was picked up along with a relative in White Sand district in Cambridge, St James yesterday. Head of the Area Three Police, Senior Superintendent Derrick Knight, says after the interview a decision will be taken on whether to file criminal charges. Police investigators say he is the main suspect in the stabbing death of 16-year-old Martha Byrowe of Albion, Manchester last Tuesday. The teen’s body was found in a house she reportedly shared with the accused. The mother of the slain teen, 46-year-old Felecia Bell, has been charged with failure to report a child in need of care and protection and failure to exercise proper care and guidance to a child. She is scheduled to appear in the Mandeville Resident Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday to answer to the charges under the Child Care and Protection Act.
