2013-02-18 12:12:21 | (0 Comments)

The Police in Antigua have taken a 41-year-old Jamaican woman in custody after 23 pounds of ganja was found hidden inside 24 factory-sealed cans of ackee.

The woman’s name has not been released.

However reports say she is due to appear in court tomorrow on various charges, including drug trafficking and importation.

Officers from the Office of National Drug and Money Laundering Control Policy reportedly picked up the woman at the VC Bird International Airport on a Caribbean Airways flight from Jamaica on Friday.

A search of her luggage revealed more than 23 pounds of the drug, estimated to be worth $90,000.
