The Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA), will meet today to discuss whether the association will support the decision of country man Dave Cameron for president of the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB).

The 42-year-old Cameron has been vice-president of the WICB since 2007.

JCA's secretary Fritz Harris says Cameron has advised the local board of his intention to challenge Dr Julian Hunte for the presidency.

Nominations for the March 27 WICB elections will close on Friday.

Earlier reports indicted that 72-year-old Hunte, who has served three terms as president, had planned to hand over the reins to Cameron.

However, it has been reported that the St Lucian has decided to continue as president.
