Parliament sends best wishes to Arthur Williams

The House of Representatives has sent best wishes to Senator Arthur Williams who was shot this morning.

At the start of today's sitting, Leader of Government Business Phillip Paulwell, said Parliament would convey the wishes to Williams and his family.

Williams' Opposition colleague Delroy Chuck also sought to allay concern about the injury.

"The full extent of his injury is not clear but we understand it is not life-threatening," said Chuck, the Leader of Opposition Business.

Williams is reported to have accidentally shot himself in the leg at a bar in New Kingston last night.
