INDECOM probes police shooting in Central Village

The Independent Commission of Investigations has started a probe into yesterday’s police shooting in Central Village.

Two men, who the police say were wanted for various crimes including shootings and extortion, were shot and killed in a reported shootout with cops yesterday afternoon.

Up to late last night the identities of the two men had not been ascertained.

The police say about 1.30 yesterday afternoon, a police party went to a house in Windsor Heights Central Village where they were involved in a confrontation with the men.

Both men were hit and were taken to hospital where they died.
