The Transport Authority is moving to acquire the Jamintel building in downtown Kingston.

General Manager of the Urban Development Corporation, Desmond Malcolm says the Authority will purchase the facility to house its offices and rent office space.

He made the disclosure during a meeting of the Public Administration and Appropriations Committee in Gordon House this morning.

The committee was also told that offers have been made for the Machado complex and the Forum hotel.

Malcolm says the downtown transport centre is expected to be divested by June.
