$11 million worth of cocaine seized, man arrested

A taxi operator from Palmer’s Cross Clarendon, is now in police custody following the seizure of $11 million worth of cocaine.

The police say yesterday members of the Transnational Crime and Narcotics Division conducting an operation when they intercepted a motorcar along Featherbed Lane, St. John’s Road in Spanish Town.

They say the motorcar was searched and packages containing a powdery white substance resembling cocaine were found.

The powdery white substance was reportedly later tested and confirmed to be 24 pounds of cocaine with a street value of $11 million. 

The police say they are conducting further investigation.
