The Senate this morning celebrated the birth of Marley, a baby girl born to Government Senator Imani Duncan Price on Thursday.
"Perhaps for the first time at last we have a Senate baby and we are glad that baby came from this side," Leader of Government Business AJ Nicholson said.
Tom Tavares Finson, who spoke on behalf of the Opposition, also welcomed news of Marley's birth.
And for her part, deputy president Angela Brown Bruke said the name of the child is most appropriate.
"A child born in reggae month to the senate should be aptly named Marley," she said.
Government Senator Floyd Morrison, who rose to submit a report from the Standing Orders committee, in the name of Duncan Price, also joined in the congratulations.
"I have not seen the babe as yet but I am certain that if I am to go by the beauty of the mother, I am certain it's a beautiful baby girl," said Morris, who is blind.
