Senator says Arthur Williams in good spirits after gunshot injury

Senator Arthur Williams, who sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound is in excellent spirits, colleague senator Tom Tavares Finson has said.


Williams, the leader of Opposition business in the Senate, received the injury to his leg on Tuesday morning.

Tavares Finson, who is deputising for Williams in the Senate, said the Opposition's senate leader is expected to return for duty next week.

AJ Nicholson, the Leader of Government Business, welcomed the news that Williams is recovering speedily and said he hopes that Williams returns to the Senate at the earliest possible time.
