NewsPublic to help folmulate proposed Child Diversion Policy2013-02-23 07:44:49 | (0 Comments)
Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Justice, Carol Palmer, says the Government will be seeking the public’s input in formulating the proposed Child Diversion Policy.
The Child Diversion Policy aims to address the needs of children involved in violent incidents, outside of the formal justice system. In the meantime, Palmer says the Government is focused on improving the justice system. She says the intention is to increase the availability and affordability of justice services, improve access, and provide information on the justice system to the public. She says key to this thrust is the Restorative Justice Programme, which the ministry has been rolling out since February of to implement operational efficiency projects.
