The 2013 local track and field season continues today with the 37th staging of the Gibson Relays at the National Stadium.

More than 3,000 athletes from high schools, clubs and institutions are expected to compete later on.

With Boys and Girls’ Championships just over two weeks away, much of the spotlight will be on the schools expected to dominate at the island’s premier high school meet.

The meet will also feature the world’s fastest man Usain Bolt and his Racers Track Club teammates including Yohan Blake and Warren Weir.

MVP Track Club with former 100-metre world record holder Asafa Powell and Nesta Carter are also down to compete.

Action gets under way at 9:30 a.m. with the heats of the boys’ high school 4 x 400-metre relay.
