The St Catherine Parish Council is pursuing plans to have a landmark named after former mayor Owen Stephenson.

Stephenson served the St Catherine Parish Council for nearly 30 years, including three terms as councillor for the Sligoville Division before his death last March.

The Sligoville Mini Stadium is among several landmarks being considered by the parish council.

Mayor of Spanish Town and Chairman of the St Catherine Parish Council Norman Scott welcome the move to honour Stephenson, saying he served with distinction.
