Two charged for breaches of the Scrap Metal Act

Two men have been arrested and charged by members of the Clarendon Police division for breaches of the Scrap Metal Act on Bustamante Highway in the parish this morning.

They are 57-year-old Hugh Griffiths, otherwise called ‘Welder’ a mechanic of Grey Ground and Garfield Griffiths, 36-year-old Mason of May Day district, both in Manchester.

Reports are that about 8:30 a.m., members of the highway patrol team stopped a vehicle in which a quantity of scrap metal was found and later seized.

Investigation into the matter continues.
