Head of the CCN, DSP Steve Brown (second right), and his team put information together at the murder scene of retired DSP Denzil Boyd - Norman Grindley/Chief Photographer.
The police say they are following several leads into yesterday's murder of retired Deputy Superintendent of Police Denzil Boyd.

Boyd was shot dead outside his house in Queensborough Gardens St. Andrew about 10.45 a.m.

According to the Constabulary Communication Network, the incident occurred shortly after Boyd and his wife arrived home from church.

The police say Boyd was having a conversation with two men outside his house when explosions were heard.

Family members went to investigate and found the ex-cop lying in the roadway with gunshot wounds.

They called the police and Boyd was taken to hospital where he died.

His licensed firearm was stolen.

A motive for his murder has not yet been established.
