National Security Minister Peter Bunting has condemned the fatal shooting of retired Deputy Superintendent, Denzil Boyd.

Boyd was shot dead outside his house in Queensborough Gardens St. Andrew yesterday morning.

The police say Boyd was having a conversation with two men outside his house when explosions were heard.

Family members went to investigate and found the ex-cop lying in the roadway with gunshot wounds.

Bunting said the retired policeman had a long and distinguished career in the Jamaica Constabulary Force.

He has called for the security forces to move quickly to apprehend the criminals so that they may be brought to justice.

The national security minister is encouraging persons to be extremely careful and alert, as they go about their daily activities.

No motive has been established for the killing of retired Deputy Superintendent Denzil Boyd.

However, police investigators say they are following several leads.
