NewsCAFFE team off to Kenya’s election2013-02-26 09:56:30 | (0 Comments)
The Director of Citizens Action for Free and Fair Elections (CAFFE) Fabian Brown is now in Kenya as part of an observer team for the Kenyan Election set for next Monday.
The observer team will be headed by former President of Botswana, Festus Mogae. The group is established by the Commonwealth Secretary-General at the invitation of the Independent Electoral Commission of Kenya. The team’s mandate is to observe the elections and consider the various factors impinging on the credibility of the electoral process as a whole, and submit a report to the Secretary-General who will then forward it to the Government of Kenya and the Commission. CAFEE is Jamaica's election observer group of volunteers founded in 1997. CAFFE has also participated in international missions in the Caribbean, Latin America and the Commonwealth over several years.
