Citizens Action for Principle And Integrity (CAPI) is expressing outrage at the Government’s move to amend to NHT Act to legalise the draw down.

It has described the action as a vulgar abuse by the Government of its majority in the Parliament.

CAPI says the move raises the urgent need for electoral and constitutional reform to restrain the powers of Government in enacting legislation at will.

CAPI’s co-convenor Dennis Meadows asserts that amending the Act will result in the erosion of the NHT’s resources.

Meadows is questioning the capacity of Attorney General to provide legal opinion devoid of political consideration.
