SportsJamaica's U-20 World Cup bid crashed last night2013-02-28 13:17:00 | (0 Comments)
Jamaica’s Young Reggae Boyz are heading home from Mexico after failing to qualify for the 2013 FIFA Under-20 World Cup in Turkey.
Jamaica were eliminated last night by hosts Mexico, who crushed them 4-0 in the last quarter-final match. Each of the quarterfinal winners earned a spot at the Under-20 World Cup. With the win, Mexico join Cuba, El Salvador and the United States as the qualifiers from the CONCACAF region. El Salvador booked their spot also last night after scoring a 3-1 victory over Panama. The four qualifiers will also battle it out for the regional championship, beginning with the tournament semifinals on Friday. Cuba and the United States will contest the opening semi-final, while El Salvador and Mexico will face off in the second semi-final.
