The police say a motor vehicle with three men was seen in the Tank Hill area of Negril, Westmoreland early this morning.

It is alleged that the men went to premises where they held up persons at gunpoint and robbed them of an undetermined sum of money.

Shots were reportedly fired but no one was injured.

A 9mm pistol was later found at the scene of the robbery.

The police say personnel from the Westmoreland Police who were on patrol duties in the area responded to calls made regarding the robbery and were able chase and apprehend the Special Constable and the civilian.

The Special Constable is on interdiction.

The police say the third man ran from the vehicle and managed to elude the police.
