2013-03-01 12:45:18 | (0 Comments)

The police are yet to apprehend one of their colleagues implicated in a robbery in Westmoreland yesterday.

The police say their information is that he is a corporal assigned to the Anti Corruption Branch in Montego Bay, who is currently on vacation leave.

Another policeman and a civilian implicated in the robbery have been arrested.

It’s alleged that three men went to a location in the Tank Hill area of Negril, Westmoreland early yesterday morning, where they held persons at gunpoint and robbed them of an undetermined sum of money.

It’s further reported that shots were fired but no one was injured.

A gun was later found at the scene of the robbery.

Personnel from the Westmoreland Police responded to calls made regarding the robbery and were able to apprehend the civilian and the Special Constable who is on interdiction.

However, the other policeman eluded them.
