The Government is to hold another round of wage talks with the Jamaica Teachers’ Association (JTA) today.

They are to meet with the Minister with responsibility for the Public Service, Horace Dalley at the finance ministry.

The meeting is set to begin at 10 a.m.

Last week, the JTA rejected a wage proposal put forward by the Government.

It is understood the Government had sought the JTA’s agreement to a wage freeze for the next five years.

The Government is seeking to contain the public wage bill as a precondition for a loan from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
