Twenty-five finals for day two of CARIFTA trials

Some 25 events final are slated for today's last day of the CARIFTA Trials at the National Stadium in Kingston.


There will be 16 track finals and nine in the field.

The two-day trials is to select the team that will compete at the CARITA Games in The Bahamas later this month.

One of today's highlights will be the Girls Under-19 200m race in which world junior representatives, Shericka Jackson of Vere Technical and Jodean Williams of St Mary will clash.

The Girls Under-19 100m hurdles is also promising a thrilling finish.

Fresh from her stirring second place finish in the Girls Under-19 100m, Holmwood Technical High School's Yanique Thompson will lead a star-studded line-up which includes, Chrisdale McCarthy of St Jago High, Megan Simmonds of UTech and Peta-Gaye Williams of Camperdown High.

Action starts at 11:00 am with the preliminary round of the Girls Under-17 1500 metres and the Girls Under-17 Shot Put.
