Man accused of killing UTech employee remanded

Lloyd Bennett, the man charged in connection with the murder of 23-year-old University of Technology employee Britney Mighty has been remanded until March 18 when his case will again be mentioned.

On Friday when Bennett appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court, Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey said she needed time to go through the case file.

Mighty was reported missing on January 27 when she failed to return to her home in Portmore, St. Catherine.

Four days later, her body was found buried under stone and grass in a section of Port Royal, Kingston.
