WESTERN BUREAU:
Jamaica's newest air carrier, Fly Jamaica recorded its first cancellation this morning since it began operation on February 14.

The airline was forced to return to the gate at the Norman Manley International Airport this morning, 15 minutes in flight, because of a cracked windshield.

The 56 passengers, who were on flight B757, will be accommodated on JetBlue flight B6 868 at 11:30am, The Gleaner has been reliably informed.

Plans are already in place to have the cracked windshield repaired today.

It is not clear what caused the damage to the aircraft, however, it is a normal occurrence for birds to strike an aircraft during flight.
