Portia heads Jamaican team for Chavez' funeral

Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller will head a high-level team, of Jamaicans who will travel to Venezuela to attend the funeral of Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez.


Energy Minister Phillip Paulwell and Foreign Affairs Minister A.J. Nicholson will accompany Simpson Miller.

The Opposition Jamaica Labour Party is to be represented by former Jamaican Ambassador to Venezuela Cliff Stone as well as the party’s Chairman, Robert Montague.



Chavez will be buried on Friday.

He died on Tuesday after a two-year battle with cancer and several surgeries in Cuba.
