Guys Hill water woes affect school

2013-03-07 13:26:25 | (0 Comments)

The Principal of the Guys Hill High School in St. Catherine, Joan Davis says the lack of regular water supply at the school is hampering operations at the institution.

According to her, the shortage of water has forced students to take water to school.

She says students are currently practicing for the Caribbean School Education Certificate without regular water supply.

Davis says students are also being sent home early due to the lack of water.

The principal says despite heavy rainfall yesterday, the catchment at the institution still does not have enough water to supply the school population.

The school has an enrollment of 1,200 students and a staff comprising 80 people.

In the meantime, chairman of the St Catherine Parish Council, Norman Scott, says efforts will be made to get water to the school.
