CAPI denies claims of attempting to 'frustrate' IMF deal

2013-03-09 18:58:09 | (0 Comments)

CAPI has dismissed claims that its legal challenge to the planned NHT drawdown is an attempt to frustrate the Government’s efforts to secure a deal with the International Monetary Fund, the IMF.

CAPI says on the contrary, it believes the Government is doing the right thing the wrong way.

Co-convenor of the group Hugh Fagan says CAPI will support any creative move to take funds from the NHT on the condition that such a move does not injure the law or the viability of the Trust.

The lobby group insists that the subsequent amendment to the NHT Act will only serve to erode and plunder the state-owned company.
