June 26 trial date for cop on corruption charges

A police corporal attached to the Westmoreland division, who is facing corruption charges is to go on trial in June.


Mark Wright is facing two counts of Breaches of the Corruption Prevention Act.

A June 26 date was set this morning, after Wright appeared before the Savanna-la-Mar Resident's Magistrate Court.

He has been offered $50,000 bail.

It's reported that last year, Wright took $20,000 from a motorist in return for leniency in relation to a traffic violation.
