A policeman charged with sexual offences was granted bail in the sum of $1 million, when he appeared in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.

He is Constable Clarence Ennis who was attached to the St Catherine South Police.

Ennis was ordered to return to court on May 14.

As a condition of his bail, he is to report to the Franklin Town Police Station three times weekly.

Ennis was also warned to keep away from the complainant.

He is charged with sexual grooming, sexual touching and child pornography.

It's reported that Ennis had sexual contact with a 15-year-old girl and is said to have used his phone to take pictures of her vagina.

Ennis was charged under the Child Care and Protection Act, following a ruling by the Director of Public Prosecutions.
