Carlos Hill trial postponed

2013-03-13 13:14:49 | (0 Comments)

Barbara Gayle, Justice Coordinator

The fraud trial of Carlos Hill had to be put off this morning.

Justice Paulette Williams told the jury that the case could not go ahead today, because certain things had to be done before the matter could proceed.

Justice Williams granted an application from the prosecution to amend the indictment.

It now reads in part that between April and November 2007, Carlos Hill
fraudulently induced people to invest in Cash Plus and Cash Plus Group Limited by making statements that the companies were viable entities and promising investors returns on their money.

Certain exhibits and documents are to be served on the defense.

The trial was adjourned to tomorrow morning.

Carlos Hill’s fraud trial began yesterday in the Home Circuit Court.

He is accused of fraudulently inducing persons to investment in Cash Plus.

Three witnesses have so far taken the stand.
