Fireworks went off this morning at the meeting of Parliament’s Public Administration and Appropriations Committee (PAAC), with Chairman Edmund Bartlett and member Mike Henry engaged in a verbal clash.

Prior to this, Henry and another committee member Fitz Jackson were locked in a verbal tussel.

Henry wanted to discuss a response that was provided by the Statistical Institute of Jamaica (STATIN), about data in relation to the country’s population.

However, the Chairman said that that discussion would take place during the new parliamentary year and declared that the matter was closed.

However, Henry refused to accept Bartlett’s explanation and insisted that he be allowed to comment on STATIN’s response when a verbal sparring ensued.
