Supreme Court judge Justice Lloyd Hibbert has issued a warrant for popular Arnett Gardens community activist George Phang to appear in court as a witness in a murder case.

Justice Hibbert  issued the warrant after Phang failed to turn up in court this morning.

He is to appear as a witness in the Home Circuit Court trial of police sergeant Calvin Lewis, who is charged with the murder of Hapete Henry in 1998.

It’s being alleged that Lewis shot and injured Henry at a football match between Arnett Gardens and Seba United at the National Stadium on April 22, 1998.

The man died from his injuries days later.

At the trial this morning, a witness testified that he did not see what happened and that he had been instructed by persons about what to say in his statement.

The trial was put off to Monday.
