The former deputy commissioner of police, Mark Shields is calling for an update on police investigations into the July 22 mob-murder of teen cross-dresser Dwayne Jones in Montego Bay, St James.
It is understood that the 17-year-old, who was dressed in women's clothing, was pointed out by a female at a dance in Adelphi after which he was beaten, stabbed and shot to death.
His body was then dumped along a roadway.
Shields says there is almost no communication from the Jamaica Constabulary Force on the status of the investigation.
The Constabulary Communication Network told our News Centre today that they were unable to give us the latest on the investigation.
The killing of Jones resulted in widespread condemnation and has attracted significant international media attention.
