The four police personnel who were implicated in the escape of a prisoner from police custody will stand trial in the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate’s Court on January 6, next year.
Bail for Constables Kirton Green, Raymond Johnson, Alicia Hutchinson-Brooks, and Faye Falconer was also extended when they appeared before the court today.
They are charged with breaches of the Corruption (Prevention) Act in connection with an incident where the prisoner, Greg Taylor, escaped custody under questionable circumstances.
Today, clerk of the court Orrett Brown told presiding magistrate Vivienne Harris that the prosecution was ready to proceed with its case against the officers and that there will be 12 prosecution witnesses.
