The ministry says only two high schools had requested and were granted permission to increase their auxiliary fee above the 2012/2013 level.
Schools will continue to receive an allocation of $11,500 per student for Tuition Grant from the ministry.
The ministry says charges for items such as Physical Education gear, epaulets, badges and lab coats should not be included on the vouchers for auxiliary fees.
It says parents should be allowed the option of obtaining these goods from other sources that are competitive.
The education ministry is also reminding parents that payment of auxiliary fees is not optional except in the cases of students on the Programme of Advancement Through Health and Education (PATH) and Wards of the State.
