No further fare adjustments to be granted, says transport minister
2013-08-28 10:12:11 | (0 Comments)
The transport minister says associations representing public passenger operators should not waste their time asking for any further adjustments in fares.
Bus and taxi association have complained about the 25 per cent across the board increase for the sector calling it woefully inadequate.
At least one group has indicated that it plans to submit a request for a new fare structure.
However, transport Minister Dr Omar Davies says such a move would be fruitless.
He maintains that the 25 per cent is the best the government can do at this time.
Bus and taxi associations insist they need a higher fare increase to help cover escalating costs.
