Residents of Tivoli Gardens are planning a march to Gordon House on Tuesday to register their rejection of the proposed Commission of Enquiry into the 2010 joint police-military incursion in their community.

The Tivoli Committee, which is representing the residents, say they will be demanding that the government immediately compensate those whose property were damaged by the security forces as well as those who were injured and now require medication they cannot afford.
Some 73 persons were killed during the operation by the security forces to capture then fugitive Christopher ‘Dudus’ Coke who was wanted by the United States on drugs and firearm charges.
Convenor of the Tivoli Commitee Lloyd D’Aguilar says the residents are demanding that the International Criminal Court be asked to investigate the conduct of the operation and handle any likely prosecution.
He says the residents will also be delivering a petition to the Speaker of the House, Michael Peart requesting that a representative of the Tivoli Committee be allowed to address Parliament on the issue.
