2013-09-14 18:16:04 | (0 Comments)
Officials in the American state of Colorado have warned thousands or residents to evacuate the town of Boulder and other outlying areas as the death toll from this week’s severe flooding climbs to four.
And the authorities in Boulder County say as many as 80 people remain unaccounted for.
The latest victim is reported to be a female resident of Boulder, who was swept away from her submerged vehicle on Thursday.
President Barack Obama has signed an emergency order approving federal disaster aid for Boulder County.
Officials say days of heavy rains have also caused severe damage to property and forced the rescue of more than 2,500 people.
The National Weather Service reports that Boulder County has received more than 15 inches of rainfall this week, nearly half the annual average for the region.
