Persons who filed complaints about the conduct of members of the security forces during the Tivoli Gardens incursion and the slaying of businessman Keith Clarke three years ago are scheduled to meet with the Public Defender today.
Public Defender Earl Witter
This is according to a notice published in The Gleaner last week. The meeting is scheduled for the Jamaica Conference Centre, in downtown Kingston, starting at 2 o’clock.
According to the notice, Public Defender Earl Witter will report on the progress of the investigations and outline the way forward before answering questions.
Persons who have filed complaints with the Public Defender’s office are required to bring evidence of personal identification.
Witter has already submitted a report to Parliament describing what he calls a siege of the west Kingston community of Tivoli Gardens by members of the security forces who were in search of then fugitive, Christopher 'Dudus' Coke.
Three members of the Jamaica Defence Force have been charged with murder arising from Clarke’s death.
