The police in Portland have taken a man into custody in relation to the stabbing death of construction worker Trevor Anderson.
Anderson was killed yesterday in the Berry Dale community.
The police say on Tuesday an argument developed between Anderson and another man after he refused his demands for a cigarette.
It's reported that the following day Anderson went to have a bath at a facility at Rio Grande.
Itís further reported that while walking up steps a man who was sitting on a wall allegedly pulled a knife and stabbed him twice in the stomach, and then fled the scene.
Anderson was rushed to the Port Antonio hospital, but he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
The police then launched a manhunt for the suspect, who was later held near Port Antonio aboard a bus heading for Kingston with a bag packed with clothing.
The suspect was taken to the Port Antonio station lock-up, where he is expected to undergo a question and answer in the presence of his attorney.
