2013-09-23 07:51:40 | (0 Comments)
An 82-year-old Clarendon man has become the latest road casualty in the parish after he was struck from his bicycle in Tollgate yesterday.
The police say Lester Lawrence was riding his bicycle along the sidewalk from Tollgate Square towards Race Course around 3:30 p.m. yesterday afternoon when he was hit by a private water truck into a ditch with water.
He died on the spot.
Lawrence is the second man to die tragically along the Tollgate Main Road since September.
The police say they will have to await the results of an autopsy to determine whether the senior citizen died from injuries sustained from the impact or from drowning.
Yesterday, the accident caused a long pile up of traffic.
