Final minimum wage consultation today in Kingston

The labour and social security ministry will hold its final minimum wage consultation in Kingston today at the Ministry of Labour and Social Security on North Street in Kingston.
It was scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. this morning.
Members of the public and interested organizations are being invited to put forward comments, suggestions or proposals for consideration.
The Minimum Wage Advisory Commission comprises representatives of the government, trade unions and employers’ group and is mandated to review minimum wage rates annually.
The National Minimum Wage was last increased in September 2012.
It was moved from $4,500 to $5,000 per forty-hour work week.
The minimum wage for security guards was also increased from $6,655 to $7,320.50 dollars per 40-hour work week.
