The court has denied bail to Detective Constable Lincoln McCoy, who is charged with the shooting death of his estranged girlfriend.
Jessica King was shot and killed on August 14 near the Errol Flynn Marina in Portland.
In denying bail today Resident Magistrate Marjorie Moisten cited, among other things, the seriousness of the allegations.
McCoy was ordered to return to the Port Antonio Resident Magistrate on January 15, next year.
The policeman allegedly shot Miss King three times in front of several witnesses killing her on the spot.
The policeman then reportedly turned the weapon on himself firing four shots.
